Jolie Box February 2012

RMK Cleansing Oil, Macadamia Deep Repair Masque, Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain in Forever Pink, Taaj Himalaya Micellar Water, Lavera Basis Sensitive Organic Hand Cream

My favourite product this month from JolieBox is definatly the Cheek & Lip Stain. I love the tiny packaging and the fact the stain changes colour depending on body temparature. The hand cream and possibly the cleanser will go to my Mum as they're not really for me and I have so many samples of this kind of thing from previous beauty boxes. I'm intrigued by the hair masque as I've never used one before and my hair is so damaged from constant straightening. I'm not sure about the idea of the RMK cleansing oil as I don't like the thought of putting oil on my face but I will most likely give it a try.

These items retail at £69.29 if you were to purchase them all full sized, so like GlossyBox, this months box is definately cost effective. I think I prefer GlossyBox to JolieBox this month, and will be ending my subscription this month. I've really enjoyed recieving my beauty boxes but I feel that they've run their course for me and I would rather put the money towards products I really really want each month.

GlossyBox February 2012

BM Beauty Pure Mineral Eyeshadow in Dahlia Blossom, Becca Beach Tint, Como Shambhala Invigorate Shower Gel, Awapuhi Wild Ginger Styling Treatment Oil by Paul Mitchell, Dr Bronners Magic Lavender Hand Sanitiser

This months GlossyBox is a bit hit and miss for me. The eyeshadow is not really a shade I would normally wear and is messy to open as it's a loose powder, but I like that it's from an animal and eco-friendly company and I will still be giving it a try. The Becca Beach Tint is a winner for me, I have already used this and love it. You don't need a lot for one application so it will last me a long time.
Not used the shower gel yet and it's not something I am rushing out to try, this may come in handy for travel though. I'm excited to try the hair oil as I don't currently use one and was going to buy Morroccan Oil in the coming weeks so this saves me from having to do that for a while. The hand sanitiser is a big thumbs down from me as I don't personally class it as a 'beauty' product. The RRP of this is £3.99 which I don't feel represents GlossyBox's ethos of providing 'luxury' beauty samples each month.

This months box comes to £76.94 if you were to buy the full size products which is a good little lot for only £12.95. I don't like the inclusion of the hand sanitiser but obviously GlossyBox caters for thousands of different tastes so you're bound to get a few not so great products for yourself that may be just what another subscriber is looking for.

What do you think of this months GlossyBox?

And yes my heart is broken

Just a small wishlist this time, I have so much going on in my 'real world' at the moment but I don't like to neglect the blog. I can't wait until summer so that I can wear things like these wedges and shorts every day. This is so unlike me as I'm normally dreading the thought of having to show some skin!

This week is Eating Disorder Awareness Week, something very close to my heart. This years theme is breaking the silence, so anybody reading this wanting to break their own silence or anybody who is worried about a friend or family member, please check out B-Eat. These guys save lives every day and get little recognition.

MODELS OWN CREAM EYESHADOW

Layer up sultry darks for a dramatic look or apply sheer, subtle colours for an iridescent glow. These cream eyeshadows will look beautiful day or night, whatever your style. - Models Own

I love cream eyeshadows as the sheer fourmula mean they're good for daytime so I was drawn to these brand new ones by Models Own. This is probably one of the longer lasting cream eyeshadows I've used, though the staying power with most cream shadows is nothing compared to pressed ones. I like to layer this in the crease of my eyelid for a subtle daytime smoky eye.

You can purchase Models Own Cream Eyeshadow here, though I bought mine at boots. I'll be going back for the Pink Piper shade!

TOO FACED LASHLIGHT MASCARA

Came across this in my local TKMAXX. I'm not really taken by the light up cosmetic trend, I used to have one of the first light up lip glosses years ago but I never really used it. It can be used with the light on or off though which is good.
Not sure I'd repurchase, the brush is a little too chunky to really give full coverage, it's hard to manouvere to the small hairs inside the lashes. It does however last all day and has a nice glossy finish.
The one I found in TKMAXX was £5.99, Lashlight retails at £16.50 from beautybay.com, though I'm sure if you shop around you can find it cheaper.
